UNASUR’s Electoral Mission informed on the deployment of 23 delegates in six Ecuadorian provinces (Pichincha, Guayas, Azuay, Manabi, Esmeraldas, and Orellana), who witnessed the establishment of the voting centers and stations, as well as the beginning of the voting process, which took place without incidents, within the legal schedule, and under the relevant regulations applicable to such electoral processes.
Regarding the time of establishment of the vote reception boards, the Mission reported full respect of the arranged timetable. As per the beginning of the process, the Mission stressed that in spite of the prevailing normal environment, the process experienced certain delays due to the non-attendance of some board members.
The delegates confirmed at the establishment of the Vote Reception Boards, that the electoral material was complete, and verified the presence of many citizens in all the observed voting centers.
The members of UNASUR’s Mission welcomed the peaceful environment, as well as the free flow of citizens in the premises. Within this context, they made a call for the continuation of the process in the same democratic and pacific spirit.
